One of the many joys of being in Africa, is trying to stay healthy. This task is a lot harder here than it is back home in the states. Thus far on the trip I have stayed surprisingly healthy which has been such a blessing, especially as I have watched many of my friends go through various struggles with stomach stuff etc. Tuesday I went with Bailey to the doctor so she could get some bumps on her leg checked out. They turned out to be Staphylococcus Aureus. She was given an anti-biotic and cream for the apparently very common infection. She was also told that it was very contagious through contact, and a razor is a very easy way to make it spread. The doctor was helpful and we went on our jolly way, back to the conference. However, the next morning I woke up to find that I had the same things! And looking back I remembered that I had borrowed Bailey’s razor earlier in the week! NO GOOD! Luckily we already had treatment, so we have been able to stop mine from getting too bad. It has been a very amusing experience, hopefully it will heal before I come home!
