The first week I spent in Johannesburg,
South Africa and it was
awesome! We live on a large homestead, called Alabanza, with some other
missionaries. Some of the people living there are individuals from South
Africa or the US,
but there are also a few American couples living here who have adopted African
children. It is a great environment with the little kids and dogs running
around all the time! The homestead has a few houses on the property and also a
few small cabins, but my team lives in a house right outside the property
fence. For ministry the first week I got to go into a "squatter" camp called
Momelodi. When we got there each day we played with children,
and put on a vbs type program for them! It was a blast! On Friday we hosted students
from a youth group program that one of the adults on the property is in charge of.
We had them over for dinner and a dance party, along with a lesson and
discipleship. It was neat to connect with the kids and laugh with them.

We have also been learning a lot in our morning teaching sessions about culture, language, and other various topics.

This next week we will be going to Swaziland to explore some more ministry opportunities. This trip should help us decide if Swazi will be our final location starting in Jan.

I am thinking of you all! misss you!
