Hey everyone at home!                         10/21/07
So far this week I have been going to a township called Eskom. I visited there once last week, and loved it, so I decided to spend the remainder of my time in South Africa ministering in Eskom. I have met many people in Eskom: Patricia, an amazingly cheerful woman, and mother of a beautiful baby; Pastor Patrick, a short man of huge faith that is seeking to disciple people in the community; Tandi, a young mother and new owner of my old Bible who is eager to seek after the Lord; Alan, a ~6 year old boy who is our biggest fan, and follows us everywhere we go!; Nelly, an amazing mother and wife who is eagerly searching for answers, and looking to follow Christ; Carlos, a humble tailor in the middle of town; and my two favorite kids- Skhambosa an 11 year old boy, and Elizabath a 7 year old girl! These people are soo amazing!! I love furthering my relationships with them! Whether I am playing, chatting, listening or teaching, I absolutely love the time that I get with the wonderful people of Eskom! I can feel that God is really working there!
We have worked with Pastor Patrick some this week, and we are planning a church service for next Monday afternoon. We have been inviting people as we meet them, and I am SO excited to see the turn out! God has really been blessing the relationships that we make with people. It is so neat to see how our love and interest in them can change their life. The people here are so amazed that we would care about them enough to help them with laundry, or enjoy a simple conversation with them. I have been learning so much through this process and God has really been showing me how he can use me and my teammates to reach people of the world!
